Product Description:
Boris Korolev was a Russian army veteran of the harsh World War II Eastern Front (known to Russians as the Great Patriotic War) and was one of the first troops to march into Berlin. On the victorious journey back to Moscow, Boris collected spices and herbs from the thankful babushkas greeting the troops along the road in many villages. He kept the spices in a pouch, blending them along the way. When his battalion arrived for a hero's welcome in Red Square, each soldier was rewarded by the General Soviet with a fresh chicken. Boris prepared his chicken using the pepper blend he had collected on his way back from Berlin. He remembered the meal proudly and fondly for all of his life.
Our Big Boris Pepper Rub is inspired by Boris, uncle by marriage of Geoffrey Bullard, Kalamazoo Outdoor Gourmet's chief product designer and great grandson of the designer of the original Kalamazoo grill.
Rub generously onto any meat 15 minutes before grilling. Especially great on a chicken presented to you by the General Soviet.
