A full custom, new construction home located in Hayward, California, this 3400 square foot home features designs from Hermogeno Designs, a San Francisco based interior design firm located in the South Beach/Rincon Hill area of the city. The relatively young firm, celebrating its 2 year anniversary this June 2007, custom designed cabinetry, select furniture pieces, bedding, window treatments, and the Brazilian Cherry and stainless steel banister and staircase.
Custom Entertainment Kitchen
With regular extended family gatherings where well over 75 guests could be found at any given time, this busy family wanted to make sure that everyone from grandma to the newest editions to the family could find a place to eat, drink and relive memories or make new ones. The matriarch of the family is an avid cook that creates dishes for her and the other 3 members of the family everyday and makes enough just in case that stray cousin, nephew or friend stops by unexpectedly.
The main requirement of the 300 square feet of space was storage. Vertical storage using the 10 foot ceilings, the oversized island and a walk in pantry helped solve this problem.
This high end, professional grade kitchen is grounded by a custom Turkish travertine floor inlaid with green fossil stone. The custom maple cabinets, that feature soft close drawers and pull out shelves in all lower cabinets, provide plenty of storage and are detailed with two different custom toned stains (darker for lower and lighter for uppers). The cabinets, designed by Mark Hermogeno and fabricated by San Jose's WoodenBridge Fine Joinery, are finished off with Liberty stainless steel pulls that match the curvature of the handles on both the U-line under-cabinet bar refrigerator and the Thermador stainless-steel professional grade appliances.
