Product Description:
Billed as "the most amazing glass you'll never see", Pilkington Optiview Anti-Reflective Glass reduces reflections - both from the outside and inside - to less than 2 percent, compared with 8 percent for clear float glass. It also blocks more than 99 percent UV transmittance but still allows more visible light to pass through than clear float. Most importantly, the online manufacturing process allows Pilkington Optiview to be produced in larger sizes than previous anti-reflective products.
More than 1,000 sq metres of the new product is being used in George Wimpey's flagship Falcon Wharf development. The bulk of the Pilkington Optiview units have been used for the restaurant facade, with the remainder in the penthouse apartments. The units were fabricated by Gulf Glass Industries in the United Arab Emirates.
