Product Description:
The machines that print our wallcovering are quite impressive in terms of size and complexity. At the beginning of each press run, a previously misprinted roll of wallcovering is run through the machine while the inks are being adjusted so as not to waste any of the pristine substrate. Sometimes the same roll is run through the machine for multiple patterns, so that hundreds of different images and colors are printed layer upon layer. To us, these once rejected rolls of wallcovering often resemble works of conceptual art, rich in color and visually complex. Sharon and I often "rescue" these discarded rolls and have gained a reputation for dumpster diving.
The idea for Vestige came from one such roll, saved and squirreled away for us by an alert and fellow colorist with a keen eye.
