Silestone® Launches MURO™ Recycled Backsplash Available in 20 colors and Multiple Sizes, Silestone MURO Befriends the Environment Cosentino® North America announces the launch of Silestone MURO, a line of tumbled mosaic pre-meshed tiles composed of recycled Silestone material. Created from 100 percent closed-loop recycling, Silestone MURO helps preserve the environment by reducing waste and maximizing the sustainability of quartz. By collecting Silestone fabrication scrap materials, Silestone MURO efficiently utilizes otherwise unused resources to create innovative and stylish products that benefit the environment and offer luxurious appeal. Silestone MURO contains the attributes of Silestone, including its low porosity, ease of cleaning and high resistance to scratching, scorching and staining. Silestone MURO incorporates the durability, strength and low-maintenance attributes of quartz. “Developed from Silestone materials, Silestone MURO is a decorative solution that is easy to install and provides multiple application possibilities,” says Roberto Contreras, Jr., chief executive officer, Cosentino North America. “Cosentino North America is committed to closing the gap between economical growth and ecological conservation. Styles include DaVinci, Matisse, Picasso and Botero. Silestone MURO tiles are mounted on mesh backing for easy installation. In addition to backsplashes, Silestone MURO can be used for shower floors and decorative accents. Silestone and Silestone MURO are certified by GREENGUARD Environmental Institute for low-to-no off-gassing into indoor air during their product lifetime. Silestone is the only quartz surface with built-in Microban® antimicrobial protection.
