The only thing it shrinks is the amount of time you spend babysitting your laundry. The Maytag Neptune DC pairs a traditional tumble dryer with a revolutionary upper drying cabinet that minimizes shrinkage, speeds up the drying process, reduces wrinkles, eliminates odors and refreshes clothes – saving time and money. The multi-purpose design, which fits in about the same floor space as a standard dryer, responds to consumers' cries for better garment care from their dryers. Long known as the company that revolutionized the way consumers clean clothes, Maytag debuts the Maytag Neptune DC as a revolution in the way people dry them. “Our research indicates almost three-quarters of today's home laundry users hang dry some of their clothes and more than 50 percent flat dry other clothes items,” says Julie Bundy, manager of consumer science and information. “People had developed elaborate systems to handle items that required extra care. The Maytag Neptune Drying Center solves an unmet consumer need by using warm circulating air to eliminate worries of shrinkage and clothing damage. Clothes that consumers normally hang or lay flat to dry can now be dried or refreshed in one to five hours in the Drying Center, compared to one to two days when air dried.” The BreezeCare Drying System moves air around and through clothes, using gentle temperatures that are easy on fabrics. Warm air infused with steam passes through multidirectional openings, gently drying or refreshing every item in the drying cabinet. Steam is generated with tap water held in a removable container located behind the small door on the front, right side of the unit. The WrinkleRelease™ Rod at the top of the cabinet sways back and forth as the clothes dry. Fragrance can be added to any cycle using the Dryer Sheet Caddy to refresh that smelly jacket. “The Maytag Neptune Drying Center refreshes the suit or sweater you wore to dinner last night in time for the meeting you have the next morning,” says Bundy. “Thus helping you save on dry cleaning bills.” Worried about capacity? Don't be. With 24.3 cu. ft. of total drying space, the Maytag Neptune DC has the largest dryer capacity in the industry. The 7.0-cu.-ft. tumbler and 17.3-cu.-ft. cabinet can be operated simultaneously. The oversize-capacity-plus Neptune tumble dryer is roomy enough for bulky rugs and bedspreads. The Maytag Neptune DC has the flexibility to dry up to 13 items. . Clothes can hang and flat dry in the same cycle in the unit. The WrinkleRelease Rod can hang dry up to nine items and three special ShapeSaver™ hangers, which prevent shoulder bumps and trouser creases, are included with the unit
